DEHYLUB® & TERRADRIL® Lubricants for Drilling Systems
Lubricants are required in oil and gas exploration in many different systems. As part of Emery Oleochemicals' Bio-Lubricants product portfolio, we offer lubricants specifically for the drilling sector for use in the following applications:
- freshwater-based muds / bentonite muds
- saltwater-based muds (WBM)
- silicate muds
- oil-based muds (OBM)
Emery's lubricants for drilling provide the following benefits:
- excellent lubricity
- temperature stability
- good ecotoxicological data
Innovative drilling fluids systems are Emery's contribution to increasingly demanding global oil and gas exploration activities. Our formulations are based on esters derived from natural resources. They are used to drill reactive geological formations and make it possible to drill highly deviated wells where borehole stability, lubricity and benign ecological properties are essential. Their unique ecotoxicological properties have dramatically reduced the impact of the drilling fluid on marine environments, even allowing the disposal of drilled cuttings on the sea floor with a clear conscience.
Some products in Emery's drilling lubricants portfolio have been developed in joint work with different institutes. Indications on application concentration are based upon laboratory tests and could require adjustment to meet customers' specific applications. Through collaboration with our customers, new lubricants can be jointly developed to fit specific application requirements.
In addition to the drilling lubricant products listed in the table below, Emery has a broad range of other lubricants including those for completion and workover and high temperature applications. Contact us to learn more or to ask about our custom solution options.
